Spies of Mississippi
The betrayers of freedom
We reveal a dark chapter in US civil rights history
The ”Mississippi State Sovereignty Commision” was set up to maintain racial segregation. In truth, it was an espionage service which infiltrated the civil rights movement in cooperation with the Ku-Klux-Klan. In the 1950s and 60s the Southern United States was a place where strict racial segregation and brutal discrimination against black people was the order of the day. Unknown until now, the state financed an intelligence agency that, at any cost, was to infiltrate and destroy the civil rights movement that was fighting for freedom and equality. Even a large number of blacks were recruited to betray the movement. The documentary “Spies of Mississippi – the betrayers of freedom ” tells a universal story of espionage and betrayal of your own people who believed that they were living in a democratic country.
