The Wild Farm
Without the farmer things get wild!
In the middle of an animal bustle of cows, pigs, horses and all kinds of poultry! THE WILD FARM shows the life of our “dear animals" up close.
An abandoned farm is the setting for this breathtakingly shot documentary which shows the lives of native animals up close and personal. After an ambulance transports the sick farmer away, the animals are suddenly left on their own and have to fend for themselves. As a result, dogs and cats, turkeys and guinea fowls, as well as pigs, horses, rats and mice gradually rediscover their "wildness". Thus, from the carefully guarded and well-kept farmstead springs a wild farm in which the animal residents can do what they want without human control. Dominique Garing and Frédéric Goupil have finally brought nearly 200 hours of footage that originated over twelve weeks of shooting down to 90 minutes. The result is consistently terrific nature shots, which open up the seldom seen world of the diverse animals living in our region. There is also a wonderful soundtrack, composed by Max Richter.
